Almost a Sonnet.

Tight as eyelid skin on a confused chameleon,
Slack as a Jack Daniels bowel with coke.
Heavy, heaving misconstrued reasoning
Of conversations yet un-spoke.

Look out baby I’m using Phrenology,
Caressing your follicles in the dead of night.
Easing out that forgotten apology,
That faded with the evening light.

In sprawling sheet-squandered-slumber
Iggy arrives, searches and destroys,
As we thrash around like fragrant tuna
Scenting the walls, with a human alloy.

A sweat soaked night, now erased.
Grace consumes the day; our slave.

Hi K,

I do like your 'Almost a Sonnet'. Somehow it does feel to me to be 'Almost a Bob Dylan Song' - and I do like Dylan !!

I agree, there may well have been some Dylanesque moments, of course nothing matching the genius of the man himself, I guess he's seeped into my psyche.

In fact just been reading Mojo Music mag and the top 100 Dylan Songs as "voted" by many of his peers is a feature, I'm a sucker for top 100 things.

What was Number 1?

Well K, I suppose my top would be his The times they are a-changin' - but he did so many greats ! (I will post the lyric to that one on the Song forum)

At the end of this month the new DVD comes out, followed by the TV filming a week later, of No Direction Home : Bob Dylan - a must surely.
